Start / Stop MySQL Database Server

 

eSuite4X includes a Mac OS X System Preferences pane to control your server processes:

 

System Preferences: eSuite4X pane

Open Mac OS X System Preferences and click the eSuite4X icon in the Others section to display the eSuite4X pane.

     
 

Control your servers

Select the Services tab to see a list of supported servers. This list displays at least Apache and MySQL. The checkbox on the left side of the service indicates if the server is currently running or not.

Select a server in the Server List to get more details on the currently running server version. On the right side you will see some status information for the selected server. The Installed Releases box contains a pop up selection with all found installations for the selected server type. The currently running server is selected.

Starting and Stopping Services

To stop a running service click the Stop button. To start a service select the release you want to start from the Installed Releases box and click Start.

 

     
 

Known issues Starting or Stopping eSuite4X MySQL database servers

Attention: If starting or stopping an eSuite4X MySQL 3 database server does not work with the System Preferences panel you have to update the StartupItem. To update the StartupItem select the Setup tab, in the Repair StartupItem select MySQL3 (eSuite4X) and click Repair. This will update the StartupItem so you can start and stop your MySQL3 server with the System Preferences pane.
