Database Navigator

The Database Navigator has been designed with administrators and developers in mind. Besides the basic schema information it displays many information on table content, structure (layout) and primary and foreign keys.

Depending on the speed of your network connection and your database server's performance retrieving these values can take quite a while. On fast servers with fast connections this is no problem and you can see all the information you need in one place immediately.

Database Navigator / Corner Menus

The Database Navigator gives you access to more than 200 actions to modify anything starting from table and object names to setting access privileges and connection information. To organize these actions we have introduced corner menus - a pop up menu accessible through the blue triangle in the upper right corner of each list (Connection, Catalog, Schema, Objects, Content and Data Editor). The actual content of the corner menu is composed depending on your current selection and the database server type you are connected to.

Database Navigator / Filter records

Click the "Filter records" button to bring up the Filter dialog. Use this dialog to either graphically select the columns and records you want displayed in your Data Editor view and/or enter a SQL where-clause manually to use a more complex filtering criteria or database specific filtering techniques.
